LONDON - Nurses who didn't wash their hands and left patients lying in soiled beds were cited in an official report blaming mismanagement for the deaths of 90 people who contracted a bacterial infection in hospitals in southern England.

Might be, but here's other stuff. Sure sounds like what we have here in the U.S.
The trust's Chief Executive Rose Gibb resigned last week.
Health Minister Ann Keen said the failures, which led to the deaths ofpatients over a 2 1/2-year period, must not be repeated. "Trusts must deliver clean, safe treatment to every patient, every time and where senior management and trust boards fail to act, they must be held accountable," Keen said.

Yes Bob it's true and happening more and more. Hospital staff blame it on government cuts in overall cleaning levels and shortage of cleaning staff. But it does not take money to wash your hands before dealing with patients, nor to make sure that patient care comes first. There can be no excuse for this to be happening, it is human failure. Basic nursing care has given way to statistics and targets, people don't count anymore. I am particularly concerned as my Aunt, who is in her eighties is in her eleventh week of hospitalisation because of repeated infection picked up after a routine examination. Trust me no one person will be found to be responsible and it will all be hushed up. Those in management will still receive their bonuses and little will be done to rectify the situation. I've told you before, this country is going down the sewer fast and G.B like G.W.B couldn't care less. Their future is well provided for.

"Their future is well provided for."
Maybe so, and maybe not, Sir. It's possibly to push even good folks too far. Then there are unbalanced fools like me that you don't have to push. I admit that I don't mind seeing the young ones, who know all there is to know, take it in the shorts. But people in their last days, who have done nothing but work all their life deserve a bit more in my opinion. A doctor hurt my son one time. I asked him why he'd been so rough, and this asshole gives me a mouthful about the poor were lucky just to have him as their doctor. Well, a few weeks later according to the daily, he was attacked and lost the use of his operating hands. Police thought it might have been a car snatcher who wanted his little red sports car. I suspect that's exactly what happened.
sounds like a load of 'shite' to me mate!
