I once read..."The great thought, the great concern, the great anxiety of men is to restrict, as much as possible, the limits of their own responsibility."
True, one can avoid his or her responsibility, but not the consequences. Ten thousand hypocrites telling George W. Bush that he did the best he could does nothing to easy the sorrow of him knowing differently. He knows that on September 11, 2001 fate laid at his doorstep a seat next to Abraham Lincoln and reverence, and he turned his back on it. Lost forever was the chance for those of us alive today to see greatness in one of our own. But, instead of truth, we heard lies. Instead of wisdom we witnessed shallowness. Instead of compassion we saw barbarism. Everyone lost, some lost more than others, but we all took a giant step backwards.
