In many ways it really is a "Great" place, at least I think so. But in Olympic terms, nope, nothing "Great" unless of course you are from Uzbekistan, Togo or maybe Tajikistan. Damn, Germany has more gold medals that the Queen's subjects have total medals. What a pity, the Tony Blair's and Margret Thatcher's have reduced a once proud nation to a "Once Upon a Time" nation. Oh, well, I'd still fight for you damn barbarians, and just for that very reason. I mean yours is a tiny place that once made the world pee their pants. Here are three cheers for the Union Jack.
good point, but I am sure there are some of us out there who still percieve engineering, electronic inventiveness, literature and even the world wide web as major achievements in history and continuing history than some sporting competition. viva the readers.
